Park Tools DCW-1 2 3 4 Double Ended 13mm thru 18mm Cone Wrench Bicycle Tool Kit by Park Tool
Product is excellent but I either missed or it did not state that I would need to pay duty (ordered from Canadian amazon site). Would not have purchased if I had known about this extra cost.
These wrenches arrived yesterday, each of the four individually packaged, and are exactly as described. This morning I used the 13/15 and the 17/18 to service the front wheel hub on an old Schwinn mountain bike I was given. It was my first time doing this, having unsuccessfully attempted to accomplish the hub servicing with standard wrenches (so as to avoid buying this special type of wrench.) I had considered buying instead the pricier Park Tool "shop quality" cone wrenches since they appear to have a longer more comfortable handle as well as fancier jaws and I was concerned with my skill level for doing this task. Thankfully, my new wrenches worked fantastic, fit on my cones and locknuts with great precision, are plenty long enough to get the needed leverage, will work for all my five bicycles which require a variety of wrench sizes, and are compatible with my finances. The real test, though, is how these cone wrenches stand up over time. I predict that they will be very robust over time, given that my Park Tool hex wrench set (seven wrenches all packed into one Swiss Army Knife-type tool) which I bought twenty years ago, is still the best tool ever.I am a mid-60's woman with no mechanical ability trying to learn something about bike repair and renovating the Schwinn as a project. So if I can successfully use these awesome cone wrenches, anyone can!
These are small wrenches designed for tighter spaces and low torque applications. These are not for use on pedals. They are purposely smaller and thinner to use on your axle and bearing nuts for your wheel hubs. The thinner size fits well on the inner bearing nut and the shorter length keeps you from making them too tight. It helps to use the correct tool for the job and These are great for their intended purpose. I had another heftier 15 mm Park cone wrench, but it is 3 mm thick instead of 2 and will not fit on the inner axle bearing nut.
